Extension Associate
Cornell University

As an Extension Associate my responsibility is to bring the research of land grant colleges to cooperative businesses, farm and food-based organizations and people interested in fortifying rural communities through group action. I also serve as the Executive Secretary of the Northeast Cooperative Council, an organization of cooperative businesses and their respective consultants. The purpose of the NECC is to provide education and information opportunities to its members that strengthen cooperative leadership and its ability to make business decisions in the best interests of member-owners.

Agriculture Economic Development Resource Educator
Cornell Cooperative Extension, Seneca Co., 2010 – 2012

At CCE Seneca County I assisted in providing information about the importance of the farm sector to various government entities. I assisted with business planning for new business start ups and provided information on farm estate planning. I was a member of the Seneca Co. Agriculture Enhancement Board.

Agriculture Program Leader
Cornell Cooperative Extension, Onondaga County, 1999 – 2009

As the Agriculture Program Leader at CCE Onondaga Co. I developed a program for the purchase of development rights through the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets Farmland Protection Implementation Grants Program. I worked with the Syracuse-Onondaga County Planning Agency on farm-non-farm conflict and Agricultural Districts review. I also assisted farmers on managing intensively grazed pasture systems. I supervised the 4-H Animal Science program.
